More information is available from Jane or Sharon in the Church Office on 01638 780985

Alpha
Tim Malkin
Now internationally acclaimed, this introduction to Christianity is widely accepted as an effective modern day tool to reach those who do not know Jesus. Invite your non-Christian friends to come with you and discover the thrill of introducing them to the Gospel.
Each evening will have an easy social setting along with testimony, teaching and discussion. The setting is geared to be as easy and non-threatening as possible and we look forward to what the Lord will do.

Marriage Course
Paul
Building a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime.
Welcome to the Marriage course - this 8 week course is
designed to strengthen marriages and includes teaching on
significant topics such as the art of communication, resolving conflict and having fun together.
Each couple’s privacy is respected and there is no group discussion.
Spaces are limited and there is a charge for the course of £28 per couple, but please let us know if affordability is a problem.
Further information is available in the back room.
The course commences in the first week of October.

Bible Study (Book of Romans)
Paul Hedger
This will be a simple and straight forward look at one of the most
central books of the Bible. It won’t involve notes, teaching and lots of listening. Rather, I see my role as provoking and facilitating discussion so that we may explore further the meaning of the text. It will be set in our own home and is designed to be a stimulating but relaxing setting.

Inside Out
Jane Darley (01638 780832) and Jeanette Malkin (01638 780283)
As a church we are very excited to be part of the national initiative HOPE 08. Inside Out have organised a variety of events to reach our community. We would like to thank all of you who got involved last term. This term we will be doing our regular litter pick around the village. Our major project for this term is a Christmas production on Sunday, December 21st. Auditions will be held in the first week of October, followed by rehearsals throughout the 2nd half of the term. Whether you want to sing, dance, act, help behind the scenes or get involved with the techno stuff there is a place for you. The production itself will provide an excellent opportunity to invite family, friends and neighbours to celebrate this miracle birth.

Prayer Matters
Sheila Crawford
Prayer is the most powerful tool we have against the enemy - but first and foremost it is the expression of our relationship with our heavenly Father. Come and worship with us, then, as we enter His presence, make our petitions to fill the bowls in heaven. In Revelation 8 we are promised that this releases power to change peoples lives—and it does!

Men’s Promise Keepers
Kirk Matthews
Men’s Promise Keepers is dedicated to uniting men in the church through a closer relationship with each other. This ultimately has proved to help draw us closer to Christ as well.
We meet in groups of three to seven men on a weekly basis. The
meetings are informal with an emphasis on talking, sharing and listening as men. There is also plenty of opportunity for prayer, especially for each other, our church and our leaders.
Ladies’ Promise Keepers

Sue Creasy
Ladies’ Promise Keepers offers a place where you can come and have fellowship with other Christian ladies meeting in small groups.
It’s a place to share, to pray, to praise God, to laugh, to be accountable and be encouraged to grow in Jesus Christ.
To talk about being part of a Promise Keepers group please approach Kirk Matthews or Sue Creasy in church or by phone.

House Groups
Guy & Diane Bayliss
Some have requested that they would like to attend a small group that has the accountability and support that Promise keepers affords but at the same time either go with their spouse or even just attend a mixed group. House groups will afford you the opportunity to meet in this way.

Christian Academy
Would you benefit from the opportunity for additional Bible study/training?
For those who aren’t able to commit to a full-time Bible college, but want to strengthen and stretch their knowledge of the Bible, we want to recommend the Christian Academy as an ideal course.

Christian Academy is an interdenominational Bible School offering a part-time course designed for busy Christians, with an emphasis on revelation, impartation and equipping as opposed to purely cognitive Bible study.
Starting in September 2008 at Newmarket Community Church, some of the subjects covered will include:
Foundations of Theology
New Testament Theology
Understanding the Bible
Apologetics
The Church

There are also existing ongoing midweek meetings that we support as relevant fellowship.
If you wish to be a part of them please approach the person
responsible.
